What is the point of this game?
There's really no "point" in the game. This is a role-playing game, where you play a human. It's supposed to be very realistic and pretty much anything that happens to you in the real world can happen to your characters on the site.
What does OOC mean?[/i]
OOC means Out of Character. This means that the person is talking as themselves, not as their character. So basically, it's like how people talk in real life.
What does IC mean?
IC means In-Character. It's the opposite of OOC. When you're in-character, you are pretending to be someone else.
Once I am accepted, if I want to create a new character, do I have to wait to be accepted again?[/i]
Nope. You need a new registration post, but, you can skip the sample post part. You don't need to wait for it to be accepted. One of the staff members will just look it over and move it to the biographies area. If something needs to be changed, you'll be informed.
When a character dies, can I get their Face Claim?
Nope. Once a celebrity is claimed, they remain claimed. Imagine how scary it would be if your friend died and you saw someone looking exactly like them walking down the street the next day! I, for one, would probably pee my pants!
If I have a thread going at the _____ board, can I still make one at the _____ board?[/i]
Yes you can. I know some sites are strict about characters being in two places at once, but we're not. Also, if you have a thread going at a restaurant, and the characters decide to go home to hangout, you don't necessarily need to start a new thread at their house unless you want to. We are perfectly fine with you continuing the thread where it was first started, even though the characters have moved to a different location.
Where is Silverdale located?[/i]
I didn't specify where it's located. I personally think of it as an average city in Canada or the USA, but I couldn't decide where to place Silverdale, so, I didn't write it in stone. One important thing to remember is that it has a four season climate, which means there is spring, summer, fall, and winter.
What's the time difference between this game and the real world?[/i]
There's no set time difference. We're gonna let you take charge of that. Think of it as "Soap Opera rules." If a character has a baby, one post it can be a newborn, and if you want, in the next post it can be a toddler. We really aren't strict with aging rules or anything because some players want certain relationships and stuff to progress faster and all that. So, the bottom line is, age your characters how you want.
What do the staff members do?[/i]
Administrator: Run the site. An admin takes care of pretty much every aspect of a website, and the other staff members help the admin. The admin writes the rules and such of the website.
Global Moderator: Enforces all rules and helps with maintenance of the website.
Moderator: Enforces all rules.
Artist: Makes skins, avatars, banners, etc. for the website.
